PET, an extremely resourceful material
Transparent or opaque, light and recyclables, ever more consumers are attracted to PET oil containers
With hundreds of different models in terms of volume, solidity, but most of all, form, PET is a material which requires a specific filling-capping technique:
- Indeed, the pushing force of empty containers against each other and/or the weight of the content inside tends to distort the containers during transfer. Container transfer depends on the neck form and may either be at the neck for volumes < 2L or at the base for volume > 2L.
- The risk of collapsing containers may occur in the case of considerable temperature variations during filling.
- Plastic shrinkage during the aging process could lead to product overflow.
- Finally, application of the caps may also crush the containers.
Furthermore, the choice of filling machine is not simply limited to the notions of volume and production automation, but also the technical skills of the machine supplier.
